Born 1953 in Den Haag, Netherlands, he successfully graduated international economics at the university of Rotterdam, Netherlands and entered a banking career at Barclay’s Bank, London.

He first got in touch with stocks and funds by working as a professional broker at the NYSE in the 1980’s and stuck with it for over 14 years. He later moved back to europe and became a successful trader in the european markets such as FTSE100, DAX and CAC40.
